Sasha Chats: Procrastination,Productivity and Podcasts!

Hi everyone!

I hope that all of you are having an amazing day/night!

I just realized that I haven’t done a ‘Sasha Chats’ post for ages and it’s been eating me up inside because I have SO.MUCH to say and share!

So, grab a cup of coffee/ hot chocolate/tea and let’s catch up together!

Firstly, let’s talk about school. I’ve been having a TON of exams recently (why do I always have exams when I want to blog??) and I’m trying to look into participating in more extra-curriculars so it’s actually been a fun experience overall!

I actually don’t mind exams all that much anymore now (unless they are MAJOR exams and I haven’t studied) because the subjects that I’m taking this year are really interesting! I know that sounds weird but I think that if you enjoy what you learn, then that’s when you can truly benefit from it. Trust me on this one;changing your mindset can change everything!

Ooh! That reminds me, I’ve got a Motivational Monday post coming soon and I’m SO excited to share it with all of you!

Anyway, although I enjoy my subjects, I don’t always enjoy studying them-revising isn’t as fun as learning it for the first time and.. well..I get lazy? So I usually end up procrastinating my work.Sometimes, my excuses to not be productive just don’t even make any sense haha..

Anyway, It’s even been officially stated (by my friends and family, so maybe not that official haha) that I’m a ‘Master Procrastinator’ and as honorable as that title is, I’m not a big fan of it. Therefore, I’ve been thinking and coming up with ways to make myself more productive and eager to work!

All of the articles/videos I read and watched (you know, to educate myself on being productive) said that the main reason for procrastination is the wrong mindset and lack of focus.

So through that, I’ve learnt that your goal doesn’t have to be short term one- (‘study to get good grades!’) but it can be a long term one that actually helps you get things done to not just accomplish your goals but also help you fulfill your ambitions- (‘study to learn and get educated and be an asset to the community’)

Your goal has to be something which motivates you and pushes you to work harder, and to work not just because you have to, but because you want to.

Anyway, changing my perspective really helped to fuel my energy into being productive and I just wanted to share that!

Something else that I’ve learnt recently has also really helped with this- it was the fact that whatever I get to do-be it studying wise or otherwise, a lot of people aren’t able to have the opportunities that I have been given.

A lot of people would love to take my place and go to school; have to opportunity to be recognized for their hard work and talents, but they aren’t able to.

It’s a harsh but real reminder to myself to not take advantage of the opportunities I have been given and to make the most out of them. And to work hard enough so that one day I can help to contribute and make sure that everyone is able to get the opportunities that I’m able to get.

Another thing that I do is something that I call-‘Productive Procrastination’ I know that term itself sounds ironic but it works for me!

So, if I’m not feeling motivated to do something; for example-math homework, then I would force myself to do something else that’s productive before coming to the homework. I would probably get through a few chapters of other subjects and then eventually come back to the homework.

The point of ‘Productive Procrastination’ was for me to do something productive even if it wasn’t strictly what I had to do, just so that I wouldn’t waste time doing nothing whilst procrastinating.

I think that productivity fuels productivity. The more productive you are, the more it motivates you to do better and work harder so eventually you get the task done! In my case, I eventually get a bit more work done that I originally anticipate, but that’s always a good thing!

I’m not a hundred percent sure if that made much sense? I just wanted to share how I rationalized the concept in my head and I do hope that it does help any of you because although it sounds weird, it does work for me haha..

Anyway, I’ve also been listening to some really inspiring podcasts by Robin Sharma before I start my day and I’ve been really enjoying them! I’m currently listening to ‘The Mastery Sessions’ and it’s all about channeling the best version of yourself and working towards your dreams!

I’ve only listened to the first three episodes and I’m already hooked haha..

Sometimes you need a little extra something to help you put things into perspective and figure out what really matters and I think podcasts are a great way to do that! It’s really fun to listen to something while you are doing something mundane, and you get to multi-task too which is always a bonus!

Well, I think I’ve rambled enough for one post haha.. I really hope that you enjoyed it and I can’t wait to share my next post with you all!

Thank you so much for reading!

What did you think of this post? Did you enjoy it? Do you procrastinate a lot like I do? I’d love to know what helps you work harder and be productive! Ooh, and do you enjoy listening to Podcasts as well? any suggestions?? Let me know in the comments!

Visualize Your Dreams And Make Them Goals | DIY Vision Board!

Hi everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great day!

I’ve always enjoyed setting myself goals and doing my best to accomplish them! While pen and paper is definitely wonderful for helping you finish up your to-do list or plan an event, for long term goals and motivation, I think visualizing your goals is definitely the way to go!

I absolutely love the concept of vision boards and how versatile they can be. I made my first one a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed it! There’s just something amazing about waking up each morning, and being greeted with a literal world of possibilities, dreams and hope.

The greatest thing about it is that it’s extremely easy to set up and you can be as creative as you’d like! There are no restrictions!

Because I loved my vision board so much, I wanted to show you all how to make one too, so that all of us can get inspired and accomplish all of our goals together!

What you use for your vision board is all up to you! You could use a frame, a cork board, a chalkboard even the cover of a notebook or a piece of cardboard!

You are also going to need a visual representation of your goals and this leads to the first step-

Think of all the things that you want to accomplish, make a list of your dreams, passions and goals and then visualize them!

If you want to become a successful author, then picture a massive bookshelf featuring all the books you’ve written! Or maybe if you want to think of smaller goals like getting good grades, think of what motivates you to get good grades!

What drives you to work harder and be more productive? What makes you happy? What inspires you? These are questions that you should answer using your vision board! A lot of people start with inspirational quotes and then move on to their ambitions and passions.

There a loads of good places to get inspiration from, but my personal favorite is Pinterest!

Decide what your priorities are and what you are going to focus on. Then, bring that order to your vision board!

I’d recommend focusing on five things or less because if you spread yourself too thin then you aren’t going to be able to do your best for everything that you want to do.

For me, my priorities are- Trying to be the best Muslim girl that I can possibly be, doing well at school, writing up fun blog posts, working on my other writing and being creative! So, that’s how I mapped out my vision board.

I organized my images to make the inspiration and quotes that motivate me to stay in the middle and I spread out the rest of my goals from that point.

I really wanted to focus on all of the positive aspects of my life and and make the most out of every moment! As I mentioned in my previous post, that’s my quote for this year so it’s going to be highlighted in my vision board.

Your vision board doesn’t have to be picture perfect, nor does it have to be exactly like someone else’s! That’s what makes it so unique. It’s kind of like a glimpse into your personality and dreams!

This is the most important step! Having a vision board is amazing but the point of it is to motivate and inspire you everyday.

When you look at your vision board, it should remind you of all of the wonderful things you can and will accomplish! Working towards your vision is what is truly going to complete your vision board.

If you aren’t feeling inspired after awhile, then change up your vision board. If your priorities change or you lose your focus, adjust your vision board according to that. When you change, your vision board also must represent that.

This is what my vision board currently looks like:

I decided to keep my ‘school and learning’ goals on top (along with with a Hermione reference!) and then gradually moved down towards my most important goals and quotes! I wanted to throw in a couple of fun images but also make sure that everything I added to my vision board was something that wasn’t unnecessary.

Since I love fashion and writing, I put together a cute little ‘designing graphic?’ and I also added a feature to my vision board which I called ‘Words’. I wanted to display my favorite phrase/ paragraph of the month out of my own writing!

I had a lot of fun making my vision board (as you can probably tell haha..) and I really hope that,if you make one yourself, you do too!

What do think of vision boards? Do you have one? and if not, are you going to make one?? I really hope that you do! What are some of your biggest goals? Maybe we can all inspire each other to accomplish them in the comments down below! Let me know!

My SECOND Bloggerversary + BLOG PARTY!

Hi everyone!

To be completely honest, I can’t quite believe what I’m typing out because it feels so unreal but..

IT’S MY SECOND BLOGGERVERSARY!

(Sorry for the all caps there, I’m just really excited haha..)

It feels absolutely incredible to have (somewhat?) successfully completed TWO years of blogging!? (I’m still a bit stunned).

I know that this year I wasn’t able to blog even half as much as I wanted to, mainly because I didn’t prioritize my blog as much as I wanted to and during the past couple of weeks I haven’t been able to have any access to the blogosphere as my device started malfunctioning. (oops)

Anyway, all of that aside, I still feel like I have learnt so much this year as well, although it seems to have flown by. I think I’ll chat about that in a different post, otherwise this one would be really long haha..

Whenever I blog-finish planning a post, making the graphics, writing, editing and then finally hitting publish-it always gives me an overwhelming sense of excitement, satisfaction and just pure happiness. That feeling is one that is just irreplaceable! It’s  a definite part of what makes blogging so special.

The thought of having other people reading-even enjoying-something that you have written is just amazing!

Starting my blog on August 1st two years ago, was most definitely one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made! Through my blog I’ve not only been able to express my ideas and thoughts on a completely different platform, but I have also been lucky enough to have gotten to know the most AMAZING people!

Last year, I hosted a blog party to celebrate my bloggerversary, so I thought; Why not have one this year as well?

Blog parties are a fab way to get to know more amazing bloggers in the community and to just celebrate and have fun!

Here’s How it Works:

  • You leave a comment introducing yourself and your blog (don’t forget to leave a link!)
  • Interact with the other people who have left a comment. Start up a conversation!
  • Get to know more bloggers and have fun!

I wanted to add in a couple of extra details (just to make the party more unique!)

  • Bring virtual party food! (donuts are the best, but cake and ice cream are always appreciated!)
  • Include one of your hobbies/interests in your description so you can find more people who share your passions.
  • Feel free to add in a random fact about yourself. I always think that these are really fun to read.

example-I like pineapples! (I really do haha..it’s abit random, but it’s still a fact!)

Always be polite and kind in the comments and please don’t say anything that could potentially offend or upset anyone!

That’s about it! I really hope that you enjoy the party (I’m really looking forward to it) and I hope that you have an amazing time!  *hands donuts*

Thank you all so so much for all of your love, support and amazing comments throughout the past two years, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!

See you in the comments!

Motivational Monday | Beauty, Being Yourself and Bravery

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to another Motivational Monday post! I hope that you are all having a great Monday! (Hopefully anyway!) and if you aren’t then, I hope that this post cheers you up a bit!

This isn’t going to be like my usual Motivational Monday Posts though, I wanted to just do a bit more of a chatty/ discussion type post today because a lot has happened recently that really got me thinking.

So, recently I was with a couple of my friends and we were all just chatting about the most random things and then we came to the subject of being “pretty” and at that point I fell silent, because I didn’t exactly agree with what they were saying but I didn’t know what I could say to explain what I was thinking either.

And that’s what I wanted to talk about in this post.

Beauty is something that is universal (and over the past few years it has become quite a controversial topic) but sometimes, I think that it all just does not make any sense. Being pretty, Having to look and behave a certain way in order to follow a standard.

Being a teen and being exposed to the media and the online world isn’t something that you can really avoid.Unfortunately with all the good things online, bad things follow as well. Things like stereotypes and always having the need to look a certain way, wear certain brands and be a certain type of person. Just always having to fit within a label.

And the worst part is that it’s never announced out loud. It’s just something that forms within every mindset and it tends to affect people in different ways.

There are always these articles in magazines telling you to be yourself and no one will judge you, but then the very next week, the same magazine goes about telling everyone that you simply must wear this and you most definitely shouldn’t be wearing that if you want to be pretty or beautiful.

But that’s just not what beauty really is about. It’s not what it symbolizes and it’s not what it stands for. Beauty is more than what you are wearing and if it’s the ‘Brand of the Season’ or not. It’s not about looking a certain way or having the right hair or clothes. Its so much more than that.

Beauty is something that you can’t always see. It’s within all of us. Sometimes it just takes us longer to find it.

That person you saw on the streets yesterday? The one who looked helpless and desperate for money? That person is beautiful. Why? Because he doesn’t want the money for himself. He wants it for his family. He wants to see a smile on his daughter’s face. He wants to raise his son in a better way than his father raised him. He just wants a better life for them. Not for him. For them.

True beauty is being kind. Being caring. Being unselfish. Being loving. Giving a helping hand. Offering a smile to someone who needs it, even if it’s the smallest thing that you could do.

And that is what I  think being beautiful really is all about. Being human. And being compassionate. Having a good heart. Because in the end that’s all that truly matters.

If you really think about it, You aren’t going to look the same in about 70 years, are you? and is all of this really going to matter? In about a year or two, the “ideal standard of beauty’ is going to change anyway.

So don’t torture yourself. STOP comparing yourself and your ideas to other people’s. You never know, they might wish they had something that you have. And comparing yourself isn’t really going to make you feel good about yourself. You are absolutely wonderful just the way you are. No one is perfect but in the end, being perfect is all just a myth anyway.

Being beautiful. Truly beautiful on the other hand isn’t a myth. It’s completely real. And YOU are one of those rare, beautiful people!

Fashion is something that I love. It’s something that I genuinely enjoy doing and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s just like any other passion like reading or even blogging.

It’s just the ‘stereotypes’ that we somehow unconsciously adopt that is kind of scary. I mean if every person in the world looked exactly the same, then what is the point? What would make us all so unique?

I think that’s where courage comes in. Being brave doesn’t always necessarily mean that you have to do something massive. It could be something like accepting yourself for who you are and choosing to become a better person or even  standing up for what you believe in. Every single act makes you brave. And that is something else that makes you beautiful.

It doesn’t even have to be with your words but also with your actions. Choosing to wear the hijab to increase your faith, although you are afraid of what people might say or do is also another form of courage.

With these thoughts in mind, I decided to take the plunge and do something I had never done before, and just  talk about it. I wanted to stand up for something I believed in. Just like all of my heroes had done. It wasn’t anything massive-but like I said, it doesn’t have to be.

I decided to talk to my entire class about what had been running through my head since that fateful conversation. My mum was the first one to tell me to go for it. And I did.

Sometimes, it isn’t easy to stand up to people and speak up. But it went quite well and it was just an amazing feeling after I was done, and my friends were so supportive of it all. And now being able to blog about it as well is just like a dream come true as well!

So, what I want to say is- just go for it! Be yourself. Do what you love doing! And never, ever be afraid to brave. It’s never easy but it’s always worth it.

Thank you all so much for reading!

DIY Motivational Pom-Pom Pillow!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having an awesome Tuesday! This post was originally going to be another ‘Motivational Monday’ post (hence the delay) but I decided not to, because I didn’t want to do two Motivational Mondays in a row but I still did want to share this DIY with you all! 😊

Lately I’ve been going through a bit of a cute throw pillow making obsession. For some reason it’s very very satisfyingly to just sit for and make something completely original and then stuff it and just watch it come to life! It’s just really fun! 😍

I even think it’s becoming a bit of problem ha ha..I’ve already made about three pillows and I’m not even close to overcoming it? 😂

So I decided to make the most of it and share one of my favorite DIY pillows with you all! I hope you like it!

  • White Cloth (or cloth in any other colour of your choice)
  • Paint (in any colour of your choice. I chose black paint) and Paint brushes
  • Markers or Paint Pens (if you don’t want to paint)
  • A Pom-Pom trim. (If you don’t have this, then you could use any other lace or ribbon that you have at home)
  • Stuffing
  • A pencil
  • And a Scissor

  • The first thing you will need to do is cut your cloth to the size that you want your throw pillow to be and map out your design on the cloth. Make sure to fold it in half so that the cloth is perfectly even on both sides.

<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br

  • For the next step, you will have to grab your paint or your markers and do a little outline of the word that you have chosen and fill it in with paint. or you could even leave it as it is.

<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br<br
ided to try and replicate a picture of the word instead. (If that makes any sense at all haha..)

Here's what I used to help me! (I just typed out the word in my fave calligraphy style font and looked at it for inspiration!) ❤️

  • After that, you have to either glue or stitch your trim along three edges of the pillow. This is to close up the edges and to attach the trim. For me this was the hardest step as I’m not very good at sewing but it was also quite relaxing and even a bit satisfying? 😂

Important Things to Remember.Don’t forget to leave one edge open so you can add in the stuffing.

  • If you are using glue then make sure to turn the pillow inside out before glueing the sides.

  • Now it’s time for the really fun part. STUFFING!! Stuff the pillow with as much stuffing as you possibly can! The more the stuffing the more cuddly and cosy it’s going to be! 😍❤️ just have fun with it!

And that’s it!

Here’s how my pillow turned out!

It’s not perfect but I’m still really pleased with it! 😊❤️

What do you think of my pillow? Are you going to try this DIY out? I do hope so! Oh and if you do, what will you write on your pillow? I’d love to know!! 🎉Alright now it’s..Time for the Comment of the Week! 🎉

Anyway, the reason I started up Motivational Mondays is to (hopefully) help with those Monday Mornin’ Blues and help to brighten up your week! ❤️ The last time I did this was almost a year ago, which is absolutely crazy to think about. I shared some tips on how to make Mondays less stressful and more fun.

This week, I decided to share some of my favorite quotes to help you (and me!) make this week AMAZING! Let’s do this!

  • Quote #1

  • Quote #2

  • Q-Describe your new blog in 3 words.

Pink. Inspiring. Happy.

  • Q-Would you rather be able to blog only once a year or not blog at all? (I’m sorry, I know it’s a really extreme question 😂)

Ugh, I’m not sure. I think if I blogged only once a year I would totally overthink that one post, and end up being really stressed about it. It would also make me miss blogging all the more. So I think I’d choose not at all.

  • Q-What is your favourite part of your new blog?

The simplicity. I adore how clean and organized everything looks.

  • Q-What are some of your fave blogging tips?

Hmm. There’s always, ‘Be yourself’, which can be helpful and confusing. The real flesh and blood, me, doesn’t say flesh and blood. The real me almost faints at the sight of blood. The real me has bad grammar and laughs at everything. The real me loves being with crowds of people I know, but feels awkward when she meets new people. The real me doesn’t hardly talk about my blog, and blushes when her sister brings it up.

But the internet me, uses excellent grammar (I hope), doesn’t mind telling people about her blog and is generally… Different. I think everyone has their unique differences, and if we just write, they will flow into our writing naturally. It’s okay for other bloggers to have the same header as you. If you like yours, keep it! Honestly, ‘Be yourself’, is the best advice out there. In the end, I’d rather look back at myself for maybe being similar to others, and happy, than totally different and unnatural.

  • Q-What are some of your best blogging moments?

When all of you guys agreed to help with my blog tour is a big one. When I finally finished my theme I was super excited as well. But it really comes down to meeting people. I LOVE meeting new bloggers.

  • Q-Who are some of your biggest role models?

My older sister. She has gone through so much hardship. Things no one should every experience. And yet, she is one of the sweetest most innocent and loving people you will ever meet.

  • Q-If you could blog about only one thing for the rest of your life, what would that thing/topic be?

Encouragement. I know I can give encourage on many different topics, but I feel like it ends up being in one category.

  • Q-What was your inspiration behind your amazing blog name?

I had been trying to come up with a name for quite a while. One day, while I was sitting doing a puzzle with my little sister, it just struck me. I was super excited because I felt it summed up the purpose of my blog. To help girls feel as feminine and lovely as fairies. And then the “February” part of it is because that’s my birth month. So, if your birthday was April, then you’d be an April Fairy.

  •    Q-If you could go and live inside any book, which book would it be? Oh, and why?

A Narnia book all the way. I mean, unicorns! I could ride unicorns! And to see Aslan, it would be amazing. I’ve actually dreamt I’m in Narnia many times before. There’s also the prospect of their gorgeous dresses.

  • Q-Would you rather have a spider or a snake for a pet?

I hate them both. But if it came down to it, I guess I’d choose a snake. I really small one. And I would give it a nice secure cage and never let it out.

  • Q-Would you rather have a million puppies or just one kitten?

One kitten. Puppies are adorable, but a million of them would be overwhelming. Plus, I’m more of a cat person.

  • Q-Do consider yourself more of a mermaid or a unicorn? (Or a fairy? 😉)

Out of a mermaid and unicorn, probably a unicorn. But if you add in fairy, then I think I’d have to go with that.

  • Q-If you could rule the world, what do you think it would look like?

I don’t think I would be a very good ruler, but I would definitely try! There would be no hunger, because there’s more than enough food for everyone. Rape and child slavery would come to an end. I would make sure every person had access to a good education. I would do everything I could to make sure the world was a healthier safer place.

And that’s it! (Unfortunately 😭) I had an absolute blast interviewing Ella and I adore all of her answers! Oh, and I think that she would make a fabulous ruler.😉 💗 I love her tips on blogging as well! She just did an awesome job answering my questions! 😍😍☺️

A huge thank you to Ella (don’t forget to check out her blog!) for giving me the opportunity to join her tour, it was lovely to be a part of it and I really really enjoyed it!! ☺️❤️ so thank you Ella!

Thank you all so much for reading!

Isn’t Ella AMAZING?! Are you following her blog yet? If not, then don’t forget to go check it out! It’s just filled with Girl Power, Positivity and Awesomeness! And of course fairies! Also let me know some of your answers to any one these questions in the comments down below! I’d love to know! 😊❤️
