Dreamer Diaries : Singapore [Part One]

Hi everyone!!

So, I’m officially back from Singapore and I have got to say…It’s been one brilliant journey. And I loved every single minute of it. ❀

I’m honestly so excited to be blogging about it all, because it’s my first ever travel diary on this blog and because it’s going to be quite a different type of blog post (with lots of pictures!) and trying something new is always really fun! πŸ˜‰

The reason this travel diary is going to be split up into two blog posts is because I don’t have all the pictures that I need for the last few days (most of the pictures that we took were split up into different devices and I haven’t gotten all of them yet unfortunately)

Onto the actual diary part!

I landed (with family and a ton of other people on the plane) in Singapore,in the night, quite late actually so my first impressions probably wouldn’t really do the country a lot of justice? At least that was what I thought anyway. But at night, the city was full of light and colour and although it was dark, I could still see a lot of trees and plants all around the area. It was like the perfect blend of urban high rises with gorgeous greenery. I was definitely wrong about night impressions.

View from the plane! (The sunset!) 😍😍😍

The airport was amazing as well! Probably the coolest airport that I have ever visited. It was all modern with a million lights everywhere you turn but welcoming as well with the greenery and the carpets! I loved it.

Anyway, it was because of taxi from the airport that confirmed our plans for our first ‘official’ day. I’ll insert a picture down below!

Isn’t that the coolest taxi you have ever seen?? It was literally full of ads for The Cirque. Even inside!

My family and I made a complete itenary between us, but of course, nothing went according to our plans haha…After seeing that, we did a bit of research on The Cirque Du Soliel and found out that it was still going on in Singapore! And we also found out that it was performing its last few shows within the next two days!!

We had to rush to get tickets because it was a spur of the moment thing and it was so so worth it! (Luckily we managed to get some pretty good seats!) I had never been to a real circus before this (or Cirque, if you will πŸ˜‰) so that itself made it one of the biggest highlights of the trip! And the stunts that the artistes performed were quite honestly unbelievable. Halfway through, I couldn’t even believe that they were even real human beings. It was magical. ❀ [ Here is a link to a trailer that shows a bit of what I saw.] 😍😍

The big top!! Ahhhh!!

Since the Cirque was in the night, we (my family and I) spent our afternoon in a 24-hour store called ‘Mustafa Center’ and I’m not exaggerating when I say this-It has literally everything. Oh and it’s MASSIVE! 😱😍

I loved it because I got quite a lot of stuff that I wanted from there so I’d definitely recommend to anyone! If you want to do some shopping and only go to one place to get everything, then it’s perfect! ❀

The second day was a little less eventful but very very fun nonetheless! We went shopping!! And very much to the annoyance of my brothers, (they had to haul our bags into the hotel πŸ˜‚) we did quite a lot of it. πŸ˜‰ We went to this awesome mall called ION Orchard and I for one, had a blast there. Mainly because everyone around me was wearing something unique and looking at the stores and even window shopping was just exciting! If you’d like to see a little haul of what I got, then let me know in the comments down below! I’d love to do one!

(The above picture was taken from Google images, it belongs to it’s original owner)

I also tried some classic Malaysian-Singaporean food! I had Teh-Tarik for the first time ever and I loved it! Teh Tarik is tea but somehow better? I don’t know how to explain it really. It’s creamy and just warms you up right away. (Which wasn’t exactly ideal seeing as it was really hot there! πŸ˜‚). And I tried this amazing thing called a ‘Satay’ and it was like a chicken kebab but it was kind of sweet? And it had a dip to go with it! ❀

We spent our second night, walking near the Gardens By The Bay which is like a group of massive towers/trees which have real live gardens inside them! It’s really cool! Unfortunately we were a tad too late (almost ten minutes!) to go see inside, but we still got to go inside Marina Bay Sands (an AMAZING hotel) and we saw the light show there and that was amazing!! If you are planning on going to see it, I’d recommend going a bit earlier so that you’ll be able to look at everything like the gardens and the light shows) 😊

And that wraps up the first couple of days! I really really hope that you have enjoyed reading my travel diary so far! Since this post is already really long, I think I had better stop here or else it will just get even longer. πŸ˜‚

I can’t wait to blog about everything else!! Thank you so much for reading!

What do you think of Dreamer Diaries so far?? Do you like it? Are you as excited for part 2 as I am?? I really hope so! ☺️❀ Oh, and have you ever been to Singapore? If so, did you go to any of these places? Let me know in the comments!

The Ultimate List of Travel-Must Haves! | What’s in My Carry-On!

Hi everyone!!

I hope you are having an awesome Monday so far! ❀ I have some super exciting news!! In last week’s post, I mentioned that I was going on holiday! (And that I’ll be blogging about it!!) But…I didn’t say where I was going! (it made everything more exciting?! ☺️)

Alright…

I’m now in…Singapore!! *squeals* I can’t believe it!! I’m absolutely loving it so far! 😍❀😊

I reached here on Friday, and I’m going to be here for a couple of days and I couldn’t be more excited! This post was actually going to be a scheduled post, but then I decided that it will just be more exciting to blog on the way! ☺️

Planning for a trip is actually just as exciting as actually going (for me at least haha..) so I usually end up planning for a trip at least two-three weeks before because that’s just part of the fun y’know? πŸ˜‰

Since I love it so much, I decided to combine the announcement with a travel essentials post! I absolutely adore reading these types of posts! Mostly because it’s really fun to see what other people are carrying and it’s actually really useful to see if you have missed out on anything! Also they are just super fun to read. πŸ˜‰β€

Alright! It’s time for some pictures!! πŸŽ‰

This is just a full picture of most of the things that I thought were absolutely essential! Well, for me at least. πŸ˜‚
The most important things to take for me were :-

  • My Travel Journal!

This is one of biggest things that I’d recommend taking on a trip. Documenting a trip is super amazing too, but writing everything down in my opinion makes it all so much more memorable and interesting.

  • Books!!

What’s a holiday without books?? I find reading when I’m on holiday always a bit more special than when I’m not on holiday for some reason? I usually collect a couple of new books for the trip- depending on how long it is and how long the plane will take to land. 😊❀ oh and I simply had to take a couple of super cute bookmarks as well! πŸ˜‚β€πŸ˜

My Bullet Journal & My (new) Travel Journal!

The books that I decided to take with me were-Malala’s book and the first book of the Divergent series! I actually got both books quite a while ago, but I never had the time (*gasps* I know!! It’s terrible!!) to read them? My Name Is Malala has actually been on my Goodreads for so long, it’s actually pretty unbelievable. 😭😭
Other stuff I included…

  • A cute pen to write with. (Aaah!! That Pom-Pom!! 😍😍) I actually featured this one in my back to school haul as well! πŸ˜‰ I think I adore it too much Haha…
  • Socks! (It is a must in the imaginary rule-book. I’m sure of it.)
  • Sunnies!! It doesn’t matter where you are going, (even if it’s to Antarctica πŸ˜‚) if it’s a holiday then sunglasses are essential. ( I may or may not have made that rule up)

  • Lip balm.

Okay so I have a problem. My lips constantly get chapped and because of that,I have to keep hydrated and I have to carry lip balm with me. At all times. Not that I mind very much though haha..I love lip balm. So I took a vanilla flavored roll on (by Lipsmacker) and a strawberry flavored one. ❀😍😍

  • Headphones

I think headphones are also another thing that will most probably be necessary. 😊❀ Listening to a podcast or a talk show or even something funny is actually a really cool experience, so I’ll definitely recommend popping in some headphones (or earbuds) into your carry-on! They’ll definitely come in handy!

  • Icebreakers!

I love this stuff! It’s honestly so good and it’s really useful when you are on a plane as well because when you concentrate on sucking it, it reduces the effect on your ears. Which means that it helps your ears to not pop? If that makes any sense at all haha… but just trust me on this one because it actually really helps!

  • Oh and a lovely ‘lil hairbrush!

I added in an extra change of clothes and a few other things as well! But apart from that, I think that’s just about it for my basic essentials! I usually tend to go quite overboard so I always end up adding in things especially at the last minute haha…this time was definitely no exception. πŸ˜‚β€ (sorry mom!)

I honestly can’t wait to blog about the actual journey!! I’m so excited!! Make sure to keep an eye on your inbox, the reader or just on my blog!  πŸ˜‰πŸ’— (only if you want to of course)

Thank you so so much for reading!!

So, What do you think?? Hav you ever been to Singapore? Do you have any travel tips to share? What are your essentials? Oh and if you could travel to anywhere in this universe, where would you go to? I’m really curious.πŸ˜‰ Let me know EVERYTHING in the comments!!
