So, I’m officially back from Singapore and I have got to say…It’s been one brilliant journey. And I loved every single minute of it. ❤
I’m honestly so excited to be blogging about it all, because it’s my first ever travel diary on this blog and because it’s going to be quite a different type of blog post (with lots of pictures!) and trying something new is always really fun! 😉
The reason this travel diary is going to be split up into two blog posts is because I don’t have all the pictures that I need for the last few days (most of the pictures that we took were split up into different devices and I haven’t gotten all of them yet unfortunately)
Onto the actual diary part!
I landed (with family and a ton of other people on the plane) in Singapore,in the night, quite late actually so my first impressions probably wouldn’t really do the country a lot of justice? At least that was what I thought anyway. But at night, the city was full of light and colour and although it was dark, I could still see a lot of trees and plants all around the area. It was like the perfect blend of urban high rises with gorgeous greenery. I was definitely wrong about night impressions.
The airport was amazing as well! Probably the coolest airport that I have ever visited. It was all modern with a million lights everywhere you turn but welcoming as well with the greenery and the carpets! I loved it.
Anyway, it was because of taxi from the airport that confirmed our plans for our first ‘official’ day. I’ll insert a picture down below!
Isn’t that the coolest taxi you have ever seen?? It was literally full of ads for The Cirque. Even inside!
My family and I made a complete itenary between us, but of course, nothing went according to our plans haha…After seeing that, we did a bit of research on The Cirque Du Soliel and found out that it was still going on in Singapore! And we also found out that it was performing its last few shows within the next two days!!
We had to rush to get tickets because it was a spur of the moment thing and it was so so worth it! (Luckily we managed to get some pretty good seats!) I had never been to a real circus before this (or Cirque, if you will 😉) so that itself made it one of the biggest highlights of the trip! And the stunts that the artistes performed were quite honestly unbelievable. Halfway through, I couldn’t even believe that they were even real human beings. It was magical. ❤ [ Here is a link to a trailer that shows a bit of what I saw.] 😍😍
Since the Cirque was in the night, we (my family and I) spent our afternoon in a 24-hour store called ‘Mustafa Center’ and I’m not exaggerating when I say this-It has literally everything. Oh and it’s MASSIVE! 😱😍
I loved it because I got quite a lot of stuff that I wanted from there so I’d definitely recommend to anyone! If you want to do some shopping and only go to one place to get everything, then it’s perfect! ❤
The second day was a little less eventful but very very fun nonetheless! We went shopping!! And very much to the annoyance of my brothers, (they had to haul our bags into the hotel 😂) we did quite a lot of it. 😉 We went to this awesome mall called ION Orchard and I for one, had a blast there. Mainly because everyone around me was wearing something unique and looking at the stores and even window shopping was just exciting! If you’d like to see a little haul of what I got, then let me know in the comments down below! I’d love to do one!
I also tried some classic Malaysian-Singaporean food! I had Teh-Tarik for the first time ever and I loved it! Teh Tarik is tea but somehow better? I don’t know how to explain it really. It’s creamy and just warms you up right away. (Which wasn’t exactly ideal seeing as it was really hot there! 😂). And I tried this amazing thing called a ‘Satay’ and it was like a chicken kebab but it was kind of sweet? And it had a dip to go with it! ❤
We spent our second night, walking near the Gardens By The Bay which is like a group of massive towers/trees which have real live gardens inside them! It’s really cool! Unfortunately we were a tad too late (almost ten minutes!) to go see inside, but we still got to go inside Marina Bay Sands (an AMAZING hotel) and we saw the light show there and that was amazing!! If you are planning on going to see it, I’d recommend going a bit earlier so that you’ll be able to look at everything like the gardens and the light shows) 😊
And that wraps up the first couple of days! I really really hope that you have enjoyed reading my travel diary so far! Since this post is already really long, I think I had better stop here or else it will just get even longer. 😂
I can’t wait to blog about everything else!! Thank you so much for reading!
What do you think of Dreamer Diaries so far?? Do you like it? Are you as excited for part 2 as I am?? I really hope so! ☺️❤ Oh, and have you ever been to Singapore? If so, did you go to any of these places? Let me know in the comments!
